Having been asked if I'd used coloured pencils on bamboo paper I thought it might be an interesting idea to try!
So I bought a pad of Hahnemuhle mixed media bamboo paper to try.
The surface of the paper was quite hard and had a texture similar to NOT watercolour paper. I found it quite difficult to cover as it tended to drag the pencil on to the paper a bit like putty.
In order to get the pencil to cover the paper I had to blend it with Zest It as it was going on too heavy.
I also found the finish to be a bit dull and it lacked the crispness that you get with HP paper. I actually found it really hard work so I doubt if I will use it again for cps. I used Polychromos and Bruynzeel coloured pencils.
