In order to make my artwork more presentable I have always fixed finished pieces into mounts. Unfortunately one of the drawbacks to doing this is that they take up a lot of space and they also become far to bulky and heavy to put into a portfolio.
In order to simplify things I decided to see if I could create a nice white border around the edges of my paintings. To achieve this I masked off the edges with masking tape. Unfortunately, I found that if the tape is left on too long it tears the paper.
So I bought some low tack tape and decided to give it another go. Thankfully this time it worked. That means I can store my paintings flat and present them in a way that is pleasing to the eye.
This is the result..
